Its main hilly areas are interspersed with picturesque valleys, the most stunning of which are those of the Blees, Clerve, Our, Sûre and Wiltz rivers.

LAKE OF THE UPPER SÛRE

This giant water reservoir is about 1 km west of Esch-sur-Sûre, at the centre of the Nature Park of the Upper Sûre.

Covering an area of 380 hectares, it provides the drinking water and electricity needs for a significant part of Luxembourg.

It is also a superb area for leisure. Outside the protected area, 2 km from the main dam, you can practice a variety of water sports such as swimming, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing.

Motor boats are banned.

One of the best ways to discover this biotop is by doing a solar boat excursion, which is organized almost daily from May to October.
